The Dales Hang Gliding Club was founded in 1974, after a few enthusiasts had felt the need to organise themselves in order to control the activities of flyers and retain the goodwill of landowners. We were made official by affiliation to the British Hang Gliding Association, now the BHPA. If you are fresh out of a Hang Gliding or Paragliding School, with little experience, you will find that if you make yourselves known to the coaches, observers and the more experienced members within the club, on and off the hills, they will be only too pleased to see that you manage your new sport safely. Please do not be afraid to ask. A site guide is an essential requirement for flying safely in the Dales, so please contact a club member for a copy. A brief guide to the sites is included on this web site but you do need a site guide as well.
