20 Feb - 9 Mar Here's an adventure you may find hard to resist! The goal To fly the length of NZ by paramotor over 1600km of some of the world's most spectacular scenery I would like to invite 4 international pilots to join me on this flying adventure in New Zealand Date: 20th Feb 2006 - 9 th March. Total numbers: (5 pilots Max ) with one support person - driver / photographer / accommodation booker / fuel filler / and general dogs body. Our Goal: To attempt to fly the complete length of both Islands. No driving just flying. (We will not be flying across the Cook Straight.) The route will be as direct as possible flying from the top of the Winterless North Island, through the centre of the North Islands volcanic thermal area, down the rugged East Coast of the South Island to Timaru. Then heading inland we fly to central otago and southern lakes area. From here we continue further south to Invercargil - the end of our flying adventure. Some of the legs may be up to 5 - 6 hrs of flying with fuel stops. (We need to achieve an average of at least 100km per day) - providing its flyable every day. I would say we should easily achieve 10 days out of 15 for this time of year as this is the most stable time to fly. (The route may change depending upon the weather especially in South Island Central otago area). This will be a test for man and machine. Accommodation will be a mixture of camping out on the way - beaches, river flats, camping grounds, remote coastal areas, camping grounds as well as staying in basic accommodation. hostels etc Accommodation will not be pre booked as we will not know what our progress is going to be (Accommodation will not be paid for).
